Thank you, Clear Channel Media & Entertainment. Not only did you give me the opportunity to work alongside Albany’s #1 radio personality D. Scott in the studio at KISS FM 102.3 WKKF, but you now have brought perhaps the most interesting collaboration in recent years into fruition for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival.

As of November 2012, over 135 million people had already downloaded the iHeartRadio app. The festival, which now has brought together artists as variable as Justin Bieber and Green Day into one bill, will be bringing Fun. and Queen onto the same stage, according to Billboard.com.

I’m sure lifelong Queen fans may be surprised or turned off by the combo, but after performing for years with Paul Rodgers, it seems as though anyone with the vocal range to perform Freddie Mercury’s songs should be recognized and given a shot. After all, Fun. frontman Nate Ruess had paid his dues long before his current band as a member of The Format for a number of years.

We are unsure as to how long the set will be and what level of integration the two bands will have on stage, but we can assure you that the staffers at UTG are very excited. As soon as footage from Las Vegas is available, we will post it.

How do you all feel about this collaboration? Let us know in the comments section below!
